PARKING HERE

Because the school is located in Camden's historical district, student parking is unavailable at the school. However, there is public parking within walking distance.  A local parking map is here.  Here is another map of Camden; Maine Coast Workshop is on the red line at the top right and the closest public parking is designated with a "P" a little beyond the library on Atlantic St. (0n the left, up an incline), also at the top right.

Students can unload their tools early on the first day of class. For students who aren't staying within walking distance of the school, we are happy to pick up anyone from the Library parking lot 10-15 minutes before class in the mornings.  We can offer this service if you have trouble walking to the shop from the Library lot (there is a slight incline).  Parking is also available on Rockbrook Rd.  This road is past the library on Rt. 1 (High St.), right after the bridge, directly before the Camden Mainstay Inn on the left (going north, up the hill).  Park on the far side of the road where there is a shoulder, toward the woods and creek and stay as far over as possible.

We are located a little beyond the red arrow below, between Eaton and Harbor Streets, on Rt. 1 (High Street).  We are on the right.  There is 25 mph sign on our property (it is the second 25 mph sign going up Rt. 1, after the Library).  You will see a low stone wall, an American flag on the house, and  6 foot carved eagle over the front door.  The shop is in the very back of the house, off the patio.  I know, our place is not the easiest to find.  We will have a sign soon as I get approval from the town.  Please see my hand drawn map at the bottom of this page.

STAYING HERE

There are many lodging options in Camden. Parking at the school is very limited so we encourage students to stay at one of the following locations since they are all a short walk to the shop. Most of locations offer breakfast and other nice amenities. You can book directly with the B&B's and Inns, or use this site.  Be sure to ask for the Maine Coast Workshop discount offered by many of the surrounding B&B's.  And if anyone is not offering this, have them contact me and I'm sure we can arrange a discount.

Camden Maine Stay InnThe Camden Maine Stay Inn offers a 20% discount to our students, and they are right across the street from us! This is our recommended location S it is close and Peter and Jan run a first class operation and the breakfasts are to die for.
